What makes an antique valuable? Age? Condition? Rarity? The maker? Its history? Or simply finding the right person who looks at it and says, “THAT one”?
In this episode, we’re looking at antiques from a furniture flipper’s perspective—not an antique collector’s. I’ll share some of my own antique furniture stories, including the $100 side-by-side cabinet I sold untouched for $900, damaged antiques we chose to redesign, family pieces whose sentimental value far outweighs their market value, and what I’ve learned about recognizing when an old piece deserves a second look.
